Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Aerod handles information when someone uses the website, reads content, follows affiliate links, or uses privacy and security apps hosted on Aerod.
Aerod is designed for privacy-sensitive users. The operating principle is simple: collect less, explain what is needed, and avoid invasive tracking by default.
Information the site may process
Aerod may process information in these practical categories:
- Basic request information required to deliver the website, such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, and similar server log fields.
- App result information required for a tool to return a result, such as the public IP visible to Aerod or browser-provided signals used by a browser privacy check.
- Voluntary contact information if a user emails Aerod or submits information through a future contact form.
- Affiliate redirect information when a user clicks a
/go/<slug>link, such as the selected redirect slug and basic request metadata needed to perform the redirect.
App checks
Aerod apps should run checks locally in the browser where practical. Some checks necessarily involve a network request. For example, an IP check cannot show the public IP visible to a website without receiving a request from the browser.
When a network check is required, the app should use the information needed to return the result and avoid storing raw browser fingerprints by default.
Camera and microphone permissions
The Online Webcam Test asks for camera or microphone permission only after a user starts the relevant test. The live stream is used in the browser for preview, input monitoring, and device diagnostics. Aerod does not require those streams to be uploaded.
Photos and short audio samples are created only through user-initiated actions. They remain local unless the user chooses to download them. Camera and microphone access can be stopped in the app or revoked through browser and operating-system permission controls.
Analytics and advertising
Aerod can use Google Analytics when a GA4 measurement ID is configured for the site. Analytics should be used to understand site performance, app usage, and content quality without turning Aerod into a user-profiling product.
Aerod also loads the Google AdSense site script so the site can be reviewed and prepared for advertising. AdSense and Google advertising systems may use cookies or similar technologies, process ad request data, and apply Google account or browser-level ad settings outside Aerod's control.
Aerod should avoid popups, interstitial ad takeovers, or ad layouts that make privacy and security content hard to read.
Affiliate links
Aerod may use affiliate links for some providers. Affiliate links should be marked as sponsored or disclosed where they appear. Clicking a provider redirect may take the user to a third-party website with its own privacy policy.
Third-party websites
Aerod may link to third-party websites, including providers, documentation, standards, and reference sources. Aerod does not control how those third parties handle data.
Data retention
Aerod should retain only what is needed for security, operation, debugging, compliance, and aggregate measurement. App results should not be stored as user profiles by default.

Privacy preferences
Aerod stores an optional analytics preference in this browser through Privacy Preferences. Google Analytics loads only after the browser records an allowed preference. The AdSense site-verification/readiness script is separate and remains disclosed in this policy.
